How do you power your pedalboards?

I currently use a bunch of the Godlyke Distributing Power All (http://www.godlyke.com/index.php?customernumber=319752980222575&pr=Online_Store&thiscat=4&=SID) and they work great (my pedalboard was quieter and sounded better after I got rid of the old BOSS power supplys....I still have one that I use for the tuner, though) but I'm thinking of going to the Voodoo labs power supply when I eventually downsize my rig....

What do you guys use?
 
i use the Visual Sound One Spot, which is basically the same thing as the Godlyke. but my powering needs have become increasingly specialized. most pedals do indeed run through the One Spot. but i need dedicated AC power for my Foxrox TZF and TC Nova Dynamics (if i ever learn how to actually use it). my ThroBak sToneBender can be powered by an AC adaptor, but can't be daisy chained. so i just use batteries in that one. and i know that when i get the Eventide Pitchfactor, that too will need its own power supply.

so instead of getting a PP2, i run the One Spot and plug anything else i need into a power strip. its just easier that way. all of those AC powered pedals will never make it onto my small Pedaltrain Jr at the same time anyway, so its not a problem.
 
Have you tried or know anyone who has gotten one of the pedalboards by Furman?

I usually despise pedalboards with built in power distribution (my old SKB was the absolute worst) but if anyone could do it I would think Furman could....

no experience with them and have heard of mixed results. but i dunno.

If my gig life improves (and it might the way things are going this year) I'll probably do a hunt for a smaller and more versatile pedalboard...I'm going to need to do a little changeout of my pedals, too...some of what I have is worn out...

if you're thinking about the PP2, then i recommend you check out the new Pedaltrain boards. the new ones have been redesigned so you can mount a PP2 to the bottom without cutting into it.

That looks like the best thing I've seen so far. is there a large and small version? Even down sizing I'm sure I'll need the larger one :embarrassed:

there's a whole bunch of sizes. i have a Jr from before the PP2 cutout. i've also owned an original and a 2. all are available with either a hardcase or a gig bag. i went with the gig bag.

I'll check those out when the time comes, I think...I'm not buying anything until I earn at least that much from some gigs, though...

I'm sure now especially. I just don't know if I want the gig bag or the hard case. I've had both and the gig bad for the SKB didn't protect things very well but my current flight case is a heavy POS. 60-70lbs worth :facepalm:
 
i have the gig bag for my PTjr. the strap isn't all that great because the adjustment clip is plastic. not sure if they fixed that though they did send me a free replacement. the flight cases are huge and add about 15 pounds to the weight. i went for light/compact.

I'm getting old. I'll probably go gigbag :embarrassed:
 
Back to how we power....I also use a 1-spot. Actually, I've got two 1-spots and I'm going to start using both of them, since my pedalboard has expanded to the point that I'm probably pushing what can safely be powered with one of them.

probably not. you should be able to find out exactly how much mA each pedal draws. even with your now modest board, i doubt you'll max it out. depends on how much juice the digitech pedals use.
 
I have an SKB board and to date I've had no problems with it. I user a One Spot for AC and I have a backup One Spot as well.

I had one of the original SKB pedalboards and I always had grounding and noise problems with it...I finally just bypassed the power distribution altogether when I discovered the Powerall....

I know that the DigiDelay is a hog. I think it uses upwards of 500 mA. The Hardwire Reverb probably uses close to that as well. The One-Spot is rated at 1700, I believe, so I'm probably still under the threshhold, but I'd say I'm pretty close.
