SOME F'NG JERK JUST CLAIMED I INFRINGED HIS COPYRIGHT WITH MY VIDEO OF

Mark Wein

Grand Poobah
Staff member
THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHICH I PERFORMED MYSELF IN A PUBLIC PLACE.

Seriously? And there is almost no recourse at Youtube to refute this claim because it hasn't been removed yet.

lol. I guess works published by the federal government and designated as public domain mean nothing these days.

This is also a video document of the most nervous I've ever been performing music in my life :embarrassed:

Meanwhile when someone infringes on my patents it takes me ten years in federal court to get any recourse at all. Both time that happened to me the companies went bankrupt from legal fees and I got nothing but legal bills. :annoyed:

I'm sorry, but you are not protecting something vital to our national security and the American way of life like a video of a Prince song or some jackass butchering the national anthem at a political event.

now that I'm a little more awake I should remind everyone that this is about a video and not politics and it was how Derivicus was banned. :embarrassed:

your vids are still up. so what happens now?

Nothing apparently:

Dear premiermusic,
Your video, The National Anthem at the OCDP 12-4-09, may have content that is owned or licensed by GoDigital MG For a Third Party.
No action is required on your part; however, if you are interested in learning how this affects your video, please visit the Content ID Matches section of your account for more information.

Sincerely,
- The YouTube Team

I'm just pissed that this could happen and what if someone makes a claim against my original content? Apparently it's easier to make a claim that refute it.
