it's definitely better than the pedals you have. the question is how will it do in a live setting. guess you'll find out soon enough.

Thats the thing. You never know until you put it on a stage next to a drumset. I'm predicting lots of fiddling with gain and volume levels for a few gigs. Sadly I only have two gigs in January and one of them is going to be pretty quiet. :(

I saw a guy at BB Kings in Nashville that played with a pretty big band. Horns, the whole works and he cut through perfectly. All he had was the plexitone and a house amp (epiphone blues 30 something or other). Just jaw dropping good tone. I think you're going to be really happy with it.

see that's nice. at least you don't have to worry about taking up too much space on a power strip. though i assume you're using the additional outlet on your PP2.
