Official Pre-Pragestock 2011 Thread

I'm going to the local music store today to try to procure a proper (and cheap) drum throne. I remember last year that a few of the drummers were less than pleased with my office chair with the back removed. :embarrassed:

If I can't find a cheap one, maybe Scott can bring one with him. If not, then maybe Chuck can bring his.

Mine's pretty shitty too, but I'll throw it in the car.

I know... Scott's gonna kick me in the taint when he sees me.

Twice.

I can bring my throne if you want. It's a pretty big, beefy one.

Probably should if you don't mind.

Indeed. I imagine Scott can handle the drums on it (he's kind of a BMF). I know the basic chords and such but haven't figured out the riffs or anything. If I can just sing it, that'd be awesome. :)

I've been playing My Hero and Big Me with my current band. I could probably pull of the bass part of Big Me if I have to, but the guitar parts are really more my thing.

I'd LOVE to do some Foo songs, but I ALREADY MADE MY CD, JERKS!!! Dangit. Now I gotta burn another. Why couldn't you guys suggest these a few weeks ago?

So Monkey Wrench, Pretender, Hero, Big Me... Any others? Let me know by tonight and I'll try and make a new CD to listen to the next few days. Worst case scenario, I could listen to it real quick before we play it, like I did a lot last year. :embarrassed:

I don't know any Foo Fighters...:(

I see about High Enough. Just don't ask me to do the solo on that one. The electric part sans the solo seems doable....

I was planning to head that way mid-afternoon-early evening. Does that work? No, I don't have to be anywhere on Friday.

That's fine. I'll be picking Dave up at 1:20 (as long as his flight is on time), so we should be back to the house around 2:embarrassed:0. We are gonna have to go to the store and get beer and food, though. You're welcome to come along for that. Won't be a whole lot of fun, except that we'll be buying a bunch of beer.

So, basically, if you want to go on the beer run with us, we'll wait for you to get there. Otherwise, don't rush to get to the house before 4 or 5. It's just gonna be me, Mrs. P, Dave and you on Thursday night.

Just learn everything on The Colour and the Shape, with a few other assorted tunes thrown in. That should cover it.

Seriously, Monkey Wrench, Big Me, and whatever else you feel like learning. I think we'll all be making it up as we go though.

Cool. I'd say 4:embarrassed:0 is probably the likely time I'd be able to make it out to your place. I'll call your cell when I wrap up what I'm doing in Charleston.

Jezus.... Other than listening to that one duet that Micwalt asked me about, I've done ZERO prep for this weekend.... I've been too swamped.

Just throwing that out there for everyone else who also hasn't even looked at or listened to any songlists. :helper:

Sounds good. If you don't get me on the cell, try at home. If I'm home, the cell may not get a signal. :embarrassed:

I haven't learned any songs for the weekend either. That kind of goes against the spirit of Pragestock...though it may make for a better sounding Pragestock.

Cool. I'll make sure to bring some beer and my empty, twisted brain.

I thought Eloy was going to try and make it down Thursday as well.....later in the evening though.

I have pretty accurate tabs for The Pretender, as well as the drum notation. The drum part isn't too challenging, but it's pretty unrelenting. If you want me to send you a .PDF of it I can.

Just so everybody knows, we're less than 24 hours away from Dave's arrival in WV.

Gotta finish up the house preparations this evening. I probably won't have time to get the PA set up before I leave for work tomorrow, so that may be what Dave and I do once we get back to the house. If we're slow enough, we can even get Jaxn Slim to help when he gets here. :embarrassed:
