Is it normal for a family to literally take HOURS to get out the door?

Seriously.....my wife said goodbye like an hour ago. I said bye, love you, etc. That was at 11. She intended to leave at 10 or so. It's now 11:50and I still hear banging and yelling. This happens every time they/we have to go anywhere.

Guys, please tell me Im no the only one. :annoyed:
 
Nope....not at all.

It is not unusual for me to tell Mrs D we need to leave 15 to 30 minutes earlier than we actually need to. Though it is better now that all the kids are older.
 
my gal's bad for that too.

"okay, I'm leaving for work now!"
so, I come downstairs...
and she's nowhere near ready.
meanwhile, I've interupted my recording to stand there watching her make her lunch, or tie her shoes, or some such fucking thing.

now, I just holler back "see you in 10 minutes", and, 20 minutes later, I go downstairs to see her off.
 
My brother & his wife are notorious for taking too long to get out of the house for anything. One morning my nephew decided to have a meltdown because his grandmother was going to the doc for some simple bloodwork. He needed to be out the door for preschool, and dad to work. He thought they were gonna make her into a pincushion and jab her all day long. Took 2 hours to get the kid calmed down.
 
I have three boys. We are ready in 5 minutes at a drop of the hat. My wife, I'm lucky to say doesn't take long at all either.

And Sweet Home Alabama is a fun song to play.

You just made me wish I had sons. I need to leave here at 5. I'm still in pajama pants, still need a shower, and I'm screwing around with this tune. I may think about getting a shower in about 45 minutes or so, and I guarantee I will be ready long before 5, probably still waiting for my wife AGAIN. And the kids wont even BE here. Makes me insane.

I hate to say this, but since we're talking about SHA......I may need even more help on this tune :embarrassed:

Im glad I'm not the only one. It really makes me insane, I try to stay chill about it though.


How much you wanna bet my wife isnt back by the time we're supposed to leave? And we're going to a Penguins game. She's even more of a fan than I am, and she has never been able to go to a game. She STILL wont make it home on time I bet.
 
It's just me an Paula here, and we still usually get out the door 10-15 minutes later than we plan. It's not all Paula though. :embarrassed:
 
my family was like that growing up. my wife isn't like that and it's one of those things that i will do everything i can to not re-live.
