OK...a student just brought in a GREAT value guitar I have to share

Cool looking take on a LP thinline! The local Music Go Round's had a few Hags during the past few months. A couple them sounded pretty good, in an indie rock sort of way. I'll have to try one out, the net time I run into one.
 
This one is cool...most of the cheaper ones have been terrible sounding that I've tried and there was one that looked like a 335 that was OK. This is the first one I'd buy.

That is my experience too. We plugged one in after demo-ing some BG smokestacks and yuck (probably not the best way to test cheap pups, but there were others that day that held their own fine), glad to know that that one is better, although on the other ones it was really just the sound that turned me off, decent build quality.
 
I had a D-2h and thought it was great. I really dig Hagstrom's. Kind of hot pickups. I think they sound pretty good. and the neck as with every Hagstrom I've tried it absolutely great.

Most Hagstroms look a little... melted... to me.

I dig the look of that a lot, actually.

I have no need for more guitars right now... (still building a live rig, pedalboard and PA and stuff like that)... but I'll have to keep an eye out to try one of those, if possible.

haha I guess I've gotten used to it already - I didn't notice until now that you missed "guitar," too :lol:




I've heard mostly good about the new Hagstrom stuff in general, but prefer the look of the old 60s pawnshop stuff
 
My Hagstrom Ultra Swede is my best overall quality Guitar I have. That it was made in China seems to have no relationship to the great build quality I see on it.
