Announcement: WE LISTENED: IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING THE FUTURE OF HC

All of Harmony Central, including the highest levels of management, have assessed the situation with HC 2.0.

Everyone is in agreement that the site is broken and that the sentiments of the community are largely valid. Frankly, we are as disappointed as you are.

We assure you that the current situation will not continue. A contingency plan that responds directly to the requests of the community is almost complete, and will be put into place as soon as humanly possible.

Please stay tuned for further developments. We appreciate your patience during this extremely trying period. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Harmony Central you have come to expect.

Sincerely,

Your Harmony Central Team

It's pretty sad that I first heard about this here on this forum. Yet again, there has been no communication with the moderators at all. There are no discussions or announcements in the moderator forum over there, other than a couple mods wondering why no one has said a word to us about anything.

Seriously? You'd think they'd keep the moderators in the loop so that THEY could answer questions in their forums (and take some of the abuse :embarrassed:)

Maybe they were hacked again and this is a hoax.

My guess is that someone high up the the corporate structure (executive management) thought it was a wonderful idea and decided to ignore all the warnings of "peons" and "nerds", and are now eating SERIOUS humble pie and trying to keep their walk of shame on the downlow.

One thing I don't understand...is there actually a "Harmony Central" company? Are they just a department of MF now?

What I can't understand is why they couldn't upgrade the vBulletin fora and just link to the new section for gear reviews, news, etc.

You could do that, but I would think they would need a 3rd part search engine. The one that they are trying to get vBulletin to implement is called Sphinx...

I have no idea, but I would guess that it probably fell under the umbrella of marketing or media in the MF company structure. I thought that the original "company" was Scott Lehman, whoever he used for tech support, and the mods/admins., and I don't think any of them went over to the MF structure, at least not as paid employees.

from what i gather, there are a few administrators with Anderton at the top. but he's a freelancer. so it's this loose network of people in charge that report to somebody at MF, likely in the IT department, if there's a problem. There's probably a person that does ad sales in house for MF too. that's probably it.
