So, um....can we have introductions from all the new guys?

My name's not Johnny, it's Daryl. It used to be somethign else on HC. I am 44 and been playing guitar for about 4 years now. I still suck. I am not really a new guy here but with all of the new guys, who are old guys from HC, and they know all of the other old guys here, but even though I am an old guy from HC, you new guys (old HC guys) dont really know me sooooo, I feel like a new guy again. :confused:

I like all the music that Brocktoon posts, I am sworn enemy to Baron85, once my girlfriend started a thread about me doing something that shall go nameless to her and I still get reminded of it regularly, and Mark lets me stick around here only because I bought him a nice bottle of bourbon for secret Santa (even if I didn't send it his way until over a year later). That should just about sum it up.

This is the entry level ProTools setup that we suggest our recording program students get....it's actually $99.00. We use ProTools here and thats what I record on. It might be a bit more than "entry level" for you in terms of ease of learning the basics if you are doing it on your own.

I think it's a great entry point if you're interested in ProTools. I might need to have a few tutorials written here about opening a session and editing modes and stuff but if you can operate a PA mixer you can pretty much record in it.

Here in the USA NASCAR rocks. Most people here do not know the V8 Supercars. I love to watch them when we get the races on TV. We get more of them now that Marcos Ambrose is in NASCAR.

Whenever you want to come skiing just let me know. I'm a half hour drive to great skiing. Heavenly is about an hour and a half from me when the weather is good.
 
My name's Michael, I'm 42 and started playing guitar when I was 8. I started gigging regularly when I was 14 and never stopped. Married w/ 2 kids (4 and 1). Spent the 90's in the music industry here in NY managing some pretty cool bands and record producers. I didn't like where the industry was headed, so I bailed and somehow found myself in the wireless telecommunications industry, consulting for the cellular providers. I sometimes miss the music industry, but I wouldn't get to see my kids much if I was still in it. So, no regrets there.

Oh yeah, I like surfing and riding motorcycles, too!

I said "new guys". :embarrassed: No, really....dont you want to know who everyone is? I feel like I'm sitting in my living room with a few buds, and a huge group of people came in to party. Cool with me but I just would like to know who they are :)

Paulskirocks: I'll have to get a book out and figure that out! I'm way rusty.

Ellen: I honestly was inches away from getting my certificate and other obsessions intervened. My father-in-law is in his 80s and slowly he's been giving me
radios since he knows I have the interest so I'm guessing it will be a good hobby for my older years.

I'm guessing that his radio days are over, he had a big set-up up at the cabin that they sold and I don't know what happened to his big Yaesu transmitter,
that thing was a work of art.

But right now my sole decent radio is the Hammarlund he gave me so I have a little work to do on it and then I'll get my ears on.
