Achtung Wok ….boomer content

Dogue in teh desert
So unlike most mericuhns I rarely ever eat teh fast food but since they got my ac unit installed today and I needed to get a new filter I drove up to the Home Depot. I maneuvered around many gigantic Ford And Ram trucks in the parking lot and found a spot to park near the exit door….

so what does this have to do with boomers you ask….wait for it…..

upon leaving the Home Depot parking lot I decided to stop at the in n out burger located next to it. first time I’ve been in there since before teh Covid outbreak I think. I order my stuff and walk over to the soft drink area to fill my cup full of diabetes inducing sugar water when I get hit with boomeritus….even though I’m firmly in Gen x camp the boomeritus took over….for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to operate the damn thing. there was no button to push so I touched it…it turned on a split second and then off ….over and over again everytime I touched it. finally a staff member walked by on her wiping tables duty so I did my best boomer impersonation and said “ um, what.s the trick to get this thing working”….she looked at me like I had just stepped out of the old folks home and showed me….” You just put your finger in fr9nt of it. See the two red lights”….so I go “oh, ok thanks”

the end

The one time I ate at In n Out the food was bad enough to keep me from going back. I guess that now I have two reasons.

It’s basically unnecessary technology. Wtf is wrong with touching the soft drink button? I have to touch the door handle going in, etc, etc
It s just another millennial hipster thing *spits*

I remember years ago people were taking In and Out Burger bumper stickers that looked liked this:

In and Out
Burger

and cutting the "B" and "r" off to get his

In and Out
urge

Ditto for me. Worse hyped hamburger ever...literal should have been called a lettuce sandwich because the weight and volume of the lettuce far exceeded the amount of meat on the "hamburger" Place was packed too, I don't see why (and it was all of our hamburgers not just one so I can't chalk it up to an error)

Staff have to clean it if you have to touch it.

It’s not about you, <insert derogatory name for whatever generation is self-centered>.

Besides, a boomer likely invented the two red lights gizmo.

Probably related to the two years of fun we had in which touching the same thing as other people wasn't advised :embarrassed:

Yeah. Deebo has been spending a lot of time getting high, posting pictures of his doggos, buying shit from Amazon, and rhapsodizing about avocado toast on the internet like a typical elderly millennial so maybe he missed the whole “things are contactless now” changeover.

I went on. Fast food binge this week and I also ate at McDonald’s (those were the only two) and guess what ….Ronald never had the stupid technology, Ron was all old school and had the push button.

So, In And Out Burger isnt as good as Five Guys?

I don’t think anything is as good as Five Guys short of making your own burger out of USDA Prime steak. I’ve stayed away from Five Guys for years because I know that if I eat there just once I’ll end up eating there five times a week until the doctor tells me that I have to stop.

We eat In N Out every 1.2 weeks. We like it and the price is right. It costs 21 bucks to feed me, the lady, and the lad. He gets a vanilla shake with his.
Yeah, the patties aren't giant. It tastes good, and everything is fresh and real food. The ingredients don't come from fast food hell. The restaurant is always spotless, and the workers are super efficient.

I get a double double animal style with hot peppers and fries the same way. Sometimes I go for 2 cheeseburgers instead of the double double.
We are most likely eating In N Out tonight.

They're entirely different. In-n-out is a 'classic' hamburger with nothing fancy - just lettuce, onion, and tomato, whereas Five Guys is a meal on a bun with all sorts of add-ons like grilled onions and mushrooms, jalapenos, etc. I like them both.

Whenever I go it's the double double with onions. I get the hot peppers at the ketchup stand. It i9s reletively inexpensive. The number 1 meal costs 9 and change. When I go to McD's it's always about 14 bucks and change cuz I get a double cheeseburger (or a big mac) , a fish fillet and either fries or chicken nuggets and a drink

I'm fine comparing McDonald's to Wendy's, Arby's, Burger King, Carl's, and even Taco Bell.

The same goes for comparing In-N-Out to 5 Guys, Smashburger, Farmers Bro's, or Shake Shack.

However, when you talk about McDonald's and In-N- Out like they are on the the same level, you're....
