Because the e-mail address associated with my moniker was my old undergrad e-mail account, and recently expired...

Any ideas whether it'd be salvageable, or should I just start over?
 
It's probably salvagable, but I imagine the admins are getting a metric shit-tonne of PMs right about now, so you'd probably be better holding off for a week :shrug:

option 3: just don't go back

my email is expired too. i hit the password reset and the only moniker associated with any current email address is "Help!I'maHowie!" :grin:

site looks like shit. MF's failure is complete.
 
I can't log in despite a password reset :shrug:..not going to bother for a while I think..as Abrasion says, I expect they're busy. :grin:

newbies are allowed to get the approval yet, so I guess that means other things too

Anywho, the first thing you do when you can log in, is go to Preferences and turn off 'Receive email notifications' to all the stuff bw06b
 
They have a glitch with email notification. I've had to block 'em from my email account.

You ain't missin' nothin' unless you're a big fan of teh suck!

Nah, you have to click on your avatar, that sends you to the screen where you can click IM's, edit preferences, change avatar, etc.

Go into edit preferences and turn off all the receive email crap. There's like 3 or 4 of 'em to turn off just for emails.
 
I've been using it for a couple of hours and it's growing on me. Sure there are some things need fixing. But there are pluses too. I can't think what they are right now but I'm sure it'll come to me :embarrassed:

I did that and they just keep comin' - it's not just me, it's a glitch. There's a thread about it in the feedback sub-forum.
 
I wouldn't bother signing up over there if I were you. It seems to be a bloated piece of shit.

If their admin works anything like ours it should be fine but maybe wait a couple of days or hit up Motorik or Strings to reassociate your old account with a current email address. I'm sure it's like the sacking of Rome over there right now.

And I know everyone is saying "I'll wait a bit before contacting admin" but the sooner you do the further up the queue you will be. :idea:
 
I logged in with no problem. I'll reserve judgement on the software for awhile, but I'm not overly impressed at this point..
