One of my friends that lives in LA found a local luthier who makes some Gibson style guitars at some reasonable prices, but he only sells them at a street market or something. I can get some more details if you’re interested

Thats OK. I don't have the budget for anything for a while.

How about an Epiphone 1958 Korina V reissue? Complete with cracked neck/headstock:

I like how the ad says "The cracks shown in the photos are FINISH CRACKS ONLY, so there’s nothing to worry about there. It’s a common problem with these guitars." And when you look at the photos there is no way that is just a crack in the finish. That headstock neck joint is cracked for sure.

I really want a Korina Flying V. A Gibson, not a Reverend. But even the 80’s reissues are $5-$6k. And I do not want an Epiphone. Guess that’s on the “after I win the lottery” punch list. :(

there are other options out there BUT they do not pop up often. IMO you may have to exercise patience.

I purchased a 1997/1998 Bacchus white Limba aka Korina 1958 style V many years ago from a seller in Japan.
It was offered as a 'prototype' which is still debatable.
It does have three attributes that are different than the 'known' original Bacchus BFV-58VK examples.

The folks at Deviser (parent company of Bacchus) were not even sure if this guitar is a 'prototype' or the original Bacchus version of the BFV-58VK.

I have owned & sold many Flying Vs during my life time but the only one I have held on to is this white Limba '58 replica from 1997/1998 made by Bacchus.

Sure, the neck is anemic & not to my liking but it is a magical guitar with 'mojo' for days.

Even with some faults, there is something about a Korina V that will kick all of the other Vs you ever had, in the azz.

Mark how “Aged” did it look? I build mine for about 600-800 my cost and try selling them for $1500. I’ve thought about expanding to do a Vee now and then but it’s seems no one wants a pointy guitar these days. Is pointy coming back?

I would rather see you grab that V. :dude:
what are you looking for in a Strat? maple neck, rosewood, color?
Really I want another Suhr. Like the one I sold a few years ago but not worn the fuck out and with a slightly bigger neck.
