For me, it's an either/or proposition. You either have the pedals you would want to consolidate into the H9 or you have the H9. I can understand wanting 2 H9s, and controlling them via midi to perform different digital functions among non time based or pitch shifting pedals. But the entire purpose is consolidation, not redundancy.

For me, I like having a phaser, flanger and chorus, 2 delays and 2 reverbs. I would almost never have all 3 mod pedals on at the same time, unless I ended up in some kinds of crazy ass noise fest, but it isn't something I would need. so an H9 would allow me to ditch 1 delay, 1 reverb and probably 2 of the mod pedals. I still will probably never get one though. As cool as they seem, it still looks like too much work for me.

It would allow you to ditch either all of them or none of them. Because you can only use one or two effects at a time, and there's no guarantee the effects you want to use together are available together. So you'd just end up with an extra pedal. Going further down that rabbit hole, you end up with a Helix.

Not for me. I would never have more than 4 on at a time. That 4th one, would be the H9. I would stack reverb, delay, whatever mod pedal I kept on and then one of the effects from the H9. I wouldn't stack 2 delays and 2 reverbs at the same time, maybe 2 reverbs and a delay, which is where the H9 would take over one of the reverbs. then I could kick on whichever mod pedal I kept. Plus there is a modulated delay, modechoverb and dual verb setting on the H9. With the H9, a mod pedal and delay and a verb I'd be fine.

I got that. What I'm saying is that all of your delays, reverbs, and moduations are built into the H9. And while you'd never use 2 reverbs together, they're both in the H9. So what are you using the H9 for if you're keeping a reverb? And which reverb? It's an issue of too much choice and then not enough choice, which is what GTRjr was talking about.

No, I would use 2 verbs together, so that is what the second verb is for. I wouldn't use 2 verbs AND 2 delays together at the same time, but stacking verbs or stacking delays is what I do

I think the thought behind them is, most folks aren't going to have multiple modulations or delays going at once, so you only need one at a time. I don't think they have any dirt in them, just modulation and delay. There are some patches that have modulation and delay on at the same time. I'm still considering one down the road but I'd really like to get my hands on one for a few weeks to see how it works and if it's worth it. For me it may not work out so well because I like to layer modulation, reverb and delays. I love a big swirling mess.

It has dirt. There are a couple of types and they're getting ready to release a fuzz algorithm too.

I figure with the DD500 and the one H9 I'm covered until I get another H9

Son, I am disappoint.

I unloaded everything during the holidays and my pay crunch at work. While the money situation is awesome now, I am going to wait to rebuild until we buy our house this summer. That gives me plenty of time to figure out what I want vs what I need.

I'm team @Chad on this. They do modulation and reverb well. I was mildly underwhelmed** with some of the dirts.
