Other than multiple restaurant availability, big cities provide no attraction to me.
I don't want to even see a neighbor's house, much less being crammed together.

NYC is on the very short list of places in the US I’d consider moving to on purpose. I wouldn’t say no to living in Williamsburg, but it doesn’t seem like where I’d actually want to live if I lived in NYC.

hipsters got to hip

That type of urban setting is not my thing anymore but if it was and it was affordable, why not.

No thanks. I can’t fathom paying that amount of money for that amount of space.

$56k per year just to squat there, not even someday own the place. $56k per year that’s not an investment, just a black hole. But ooh! It has a windowsill and you might be able to store some shit by stacking it on the water heater. Getthefugouttahere.

yeah but? yer in the heat of it though. You can get a 1.50 slice, a bagel. a taco and be seen in your skinny pants all within walking distance of the L and if that is too far you can ride your fixie or electric

I think it's time to face reality that 'hipster' is just your boomer code word for 'these kids today and their <insert thing I don't understand>'

Now get off my lawn

first OFF I'm an X'er and not a boomer so as the kidz say learn n return....secondly I do understand the reason a hipster would become a hipster so here is why....

as a young person you search as to where to fit in , you also want to believe that you are an individual and not just another cog in the wheel of society....YOU ARE UNIQUE GOSH DANGIT AND YOU WILL SHOW THE WORLD HOW UNIQUE YOU ARE BY assimilating to a "counter culture" although the irony (hipsters do like irony) is that the perceived counter is actually just another establishment because....wait for it......there is no new (its all recycled) and it's all reactionary and at the same time excepted . you can count on a youth trying to be an individual by associating with a group perceived to be counter/outside the established "norm" as much as you can count on the sun rising and the sun setting .....I think Lao Tzu said that *spits*

Hipster is just a word for trendsetter but the irony is that once it become a thing it's no longer hip....probably why hipsters love irony.
The cycle goes like this ....some influencers as they call them these days start something counter/reactionary (skinny jeans to the bootcut or baggy to the skinny), beards to clean shaven, clean shaven to beards....then the wannabe's come along and adopt the trend which immediatly makes it passe to the originators and now it goes on for a long time with wannabe's and "posuers" whilst simultaneously a new hip is devlepong...then the Boomers take it to the corporate world and then the cycle continues...Beatniks become hippies>hippies become new wave/punkers> the previous become corporate overlords> their kids become hipsters and next will probably be beatniks again to complete the wheel

Hope this helps.

Deebo, you should probably start a YouTube channel doing cultural analysis. I’d totally buy a pair of Bombas socks with offer code DRYHEAT to see you on screen offering insights like those above. You’ve got a real knack for deep research and hard truths THEY don’t want you to know about.

You should do your first episode about how KIDS TODAY think it’s ironic to be 38 year old overworked parents with student loan debt that is old enough to vote just for lulz on the MySpace.

I read that as boner. From now on until forever Bob has a boner code word
