WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO......RIGHT NOW......Mk III

That’s some pretty eerie shit with the music going in the background and knowing the history of it all. I’ve read books and have seen a bunch of documentaries on it, and of course the Helter Skelter movie. I enjoy that scenery, it reminds me of when I used to go for drives and sometimes camp out in the Ortegas to some of the more remote spots, it’s beautiful but also has a perpetual eerie undercurrent…one time I was there camping with my (now ex) wife and we got completely spooked, it felt like someone was watching us. We left quickly, it still gives me chills thinking about it. You might find this of interest, a vlogger that I watch on occasion:

Yeah I really got into the Manson history around that time. I wasn't one of those "charlie is God/Free Charlie" people but it was just facinating history. I even ran across some 4 hour double DVD at the time which I ordered from some dude it was all transfered from the original tapes. It was like hours of footage from their ranch that was closer to L.A. (the old movie ranch where they lived at the time of the Labianca murder) I recall it was a sketchy site, a regular website but I'm pretty sure the dude was some sleezeball. The website claimed the videos were aquired in the 70's from one of the family memebers or something :embarrassed: anyway I never got around to watching it cuz I thought it might be too freaky.

I think I've seen that one. I actually subscribe to that channel. It was either that one or mighta been Adam the Woo's channel if you're familiar with him, he did a similar one.

*edit* btw I always loved this intro music he used to use

Ok I'm halfway into this right now and I think it was Adam the woos video I saw, I don't remewmber this now. This is very interesting. he is definitely a dead ringer for looks, the eyes and facial features but even the voice is quite frankly similar...

Yeah, that HAS to be his son…everything about him. Although he seems a lot more normal/nicer than Charles :embarrassed: There’s another episode I think where he shares Charles’ letters to him from jail, some of which confirm that they’re father/son. I know of Adam The Woo, but I haven’t really watched him, mostly Jordan (who I’ve mostly stopped watching since he moved away from L.A). The theme music is his friend’s band he’s said, I’ve heard a few other songs by them. I don’t know if you’re into Sparklehorse/Mark Linkous, but he’s had a few great episodes on him (I’m a big fan like Jordan!) Anyway, I’ve seen some of the footage from the L.A ranch, it’s pretty creepy stuff for sure, esp. knowing what was about to happen.

Adam the woo used to be pretty good. I guess he was kinda one of the original vloggers who hit it big and was able to support himself doing that. He used to travel around the country then he settled in L.A. for a while a bit before covid hit. His L.A. stuff was always interesting but then somewhere around there he went full Disney nutjob (There's a whole cottage industry of Disneyland/world vloggers) and then he moved to FloriDUH ( his parents live there) and it became kinda boring...disneyworld stuff and whatnot although he still had interesting things like driving from L.A. to Floriduh following r 66 for awhile etc.

Interesting that was Jordans friends band. I looked up the song awhile back and found the name of the band but they only had one album. I downloaded it but it didn't have that song, still good though.

I've heard of Sparklehorse but never heard them. Jordan did a good episode on Kurt Cobain once, lotsa places he visited in Seattle.

This is a band I discovered (courtesy of my sister) when I moved back to Wisconsin. They're pretty awesome:
Dead Horses

Ah yeah, I seem to recall him doing all that Disney stuff…no interest in that at all, kind of weird. I think Jordan was inspired by Adam to do the vlogging and eventually moving away from L.A. You should check out some Sparklehorse, betting you’ll like it…any of the first three albums or so is a good place to start. I saw the Kurt episodes, I used to live on the road in Seattle where all those motels are located. Good friend of mine unexpectedly passed away this weekend, I’m still reeling. We shared a lot of common music interests including Neil, here’s one for you Tyler:
