WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO......RIGHT NOW......Mk III

Said it before, Willy deVille is the most 'almost there' artist I can think of. Great music, house band at CBGBs, a hit single, nominated for a soundtrack Oscar, Willy always seemed to be on the edge of breaking into the Van/Lou/ Boss level.

Anyhow, Dylan sang his praises as being more deserving than Steely Dan of being in the Rock n' Roll HOF, which I don't want to argue either way, but I loved the mention.

Nothing at the moment, but last night I was listening to the reissue of Zappa's We're Only In It For The Money+Lumpy Gravy. I was inspired by @smurfco 's Zappa SG thread. Put a smile on my face.

One humorous note, Mrs. Roach walked in during some choice bits of "Lumpy Gravy Pt. I" and was very disturbed by it.

It seems that I somehow got trapped in a HCGJ time warp and landed here 10 years later! :embarrassed:
Better late then never ! I can't remember if you were here at the intial exodus or not. I was awol here for a few years but that was quite a while ago....theodore who used to be Brockton drew me back but now Theodore is awol as well :embarrassed: Last things I remember about you towards the end of GJ was your Jeep Cherokee got stolen but then recovered and I think you liked the band Marillion :embarrassed:

Haha, good memory with the Jeep in 2012! :bigg: I haven’t listened to Marillion much in years really, although I’ll always be a fan of the early stuff with Fish…old 60’s psych is always in my rotation, I never tire of it. I was friends w/ Brocktoon/IamOne on FB for awhile years back, but he was going a bit off the rails seemingly during that period :embarrassed: I think Onewhiteduck is still in contact with him him? There was an exodus here? I don’t think I was ever a member before, but I had a lot going on post 2013 and on and don’t think I was registered before that either. It’s a trip seeing all the old HCGJ names again, I hope everyone’s doing well! And glad to see you here Dd, I miss your Jerry doll avatar :embarrassed:

The exodus was from HCGJ....i think , if I remember right or maybe it was just a gradual movement to here. when HCGJ went to shit I was mainly here but I actually spent some time at the Bucky Goldstein place and boy was that a shit show. I finally left cuz someone made some rude comment to me after I briefly mentioned my dog died...they were just a bunch of sicko deghenerates over there. It was tyhe worst of the worst, not sure why I went in the first place :embarrassed:
Do you remember Sad Navigator? he is Peen Simmons over here. Motorik is still Motorik, he was absent for a long time but returned here a year or two before teh covid hit.
I don't even play guitar these days, still have most of my stuff but just don't have the time, energy or money to spare but I'm still here daily (although I stick to this forum) :embarrassed:
I still have the IamOne discography, for got where I got it...perhaps Brocktoon....Jason Knowels was his name

and Theodore posted some Iamone youtube a few years back where it was just Jason in an apartment kitchen....it was pretty nutty but I failed to bookmark it, or I ;probably didi but I have so many subscriptions and saved yt's it'd take me forever to find it.

I remember a bunch of that stuff he did and I do vaguely remember the kitchen vid too :embarrassed: I always enjoyed his take on Brush w/ The Blues, good guitaring skillz. And I remember Bucky’s place too, from what I recall it was mostly a bunch of macho cowboy stuff and prOn :embarrassed: Sad Navigator…I can’t remember if he was someone else before? Libertarian? The guy from NJ? My memory is a little foggy 10 years later hehe. Trying to remember other forumites…Weebz? Oscar Jordan? Has Muddslide been around here at all? I still play guitar every day, even more so now that I work from home these days. You should rise your Parker Fly you had up from the ashes! :bigg: I liked your kind of Can inspired jams, I think you were listening a lot to them back then :)
Back OT, here’s some kool psych:
