Go figure.
I saw one years ago at a local used car lot with a very cheap sticker price, it looked fantstic from the street so I went to investigate. I found a salesdood and asked him if it had been wrecked or had major mechanical issues... be said "nope, it is perfect mechanical order and shows no signs of previous accidents."
When I asked why it was so cheap, he said "well, you'll just have to see for yourself."
He then walked me over to the car and opened the door so I could look inside... the ENTIRE interior had been covered in BROWN COURDOROY. The seats, the dash, the headliner... everything. To make it somehow WORSE, the lines in the material ran in every possible direction throughout the car. It was beyond hideous.
Anyway, as much as old school Porschefiles knocked the 928, it evolved into an incredible car before its demise. The 1987 928S4 was THE FASTEST PRODUCTION CAR on the road at the time. Faster than the 911 Turbo (930), faster than a Testarossa, faster than a Countach. It could also outperform all of those cars on a skid pad due to its near perfect weight distribution.
