Friday: chilled out and had an early night

Saturday: had a gig on Loch Ness so had breakfast then hit the road. Should have taken about 3 hours but bad roadworks pushed it to about 4 and a half. Nice accommodation, great gig and a very happy couple. This is the 3rd wedding I've booked through this family / friends group and I'm sure I'll land more.

Sunday: didn't sleep well so hit the road as soon as I got up. Had McDonald's breakfast, terrible, really terrible. Napped when I got home then met some friends for a few beers. Netflix then another early night.

Saturday - worked a shift at my old job to help them out...stopped at Alto Music and spent WAY too much money...set up my new toys and spent hours in my studio...

Sunday - morning chores and errands...more hours in the studio...ordered even more stuff for the studio to go along with what I just got...watched the drag races...chilled in the evening watching videos...

Friday - work. Then, quick dinner and a cruise in the NewYorker.

Saturday - worked on the NewYorker a bit and then just chilled the rest of the day

Sunday - more chillin’ It was supposed to rain all day long and it didn’t. It was just cloudy enough for most of the day to keep you from planning anything outdoors.

Monday - Civic Holiday here in Canookia. No idea yet.

Daughter DCF worked 6:30am starts on Saturday, Sunday, and today (and again tomorrow). She needs a ride to work. Whether it’s me or Mrs DCF, we both end up awake. Mrs DCF can go back to sleep afterward. I can’t.

One round of golf, some guitar.

My new wedding ring got back from being engraved. (For those who missed my earlier thread, the original got pinched).

Saturday- cleaned the front yard. After 7.2 inches of rain in July the weeds were knee high to a human.....I got a few popping up again already :embarrassed:

Friday, replaced the old battery in the Honda, but it still won't turn over. I give up.
Watched various Olympic events throughout the weekend.

Saturday, rode a bit, enjoying the quiet morning.

Sunday, rode an hour and battled the local duck gangs.

Friday - Another night at the Lost Towns Brewing open mic. I was in a nostalgic mood, so I pulled out Mobile Line, a song I learned from a John Sebastian live album, Act Naturally, Sunshine Superman, and Darling Be Home Soon. Later in the jamming got roped into playing along with Margaritaville. :eyeroll:  :deadhorse:

Saturday - Was my 70th birthday. I generally don't celebrate, but this is a milestone, especially since no one else in my immediate family ever made it to 70. We took a trip to Stafford Springs, CT to look around. A great example of a small town that has built up Main Street with some really cool shops, a nice park, and an emphasis on the arts. In the evening Carol and I went out to dinner with my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. I like all of my in-laws, but feel especially close to Henry and Lisa. This was the closest thing to a birthday party that I have had since Carol's family threw a surprise 50th "over the hill" party for me. Maybe I'll celebrate again in 10 years...

Sunday - I had to attend a 4-hour church board "retreat", which was really just a marathon board meeting. :eyeroll: We have been doing Zoom services since the lockdown; we had to make the decision regarding reopening the beginning of the church year in September. Being Unitarian Universalists, we are much more science and reason based; a month ago there was no question that we would reopen, but the recent surge of the Delta variant. After much (too much, actually) debate it was decided that we will reopen but will offer a streaming version the service for those uncomfortable with returning to the church. Of course, all of this could change depending on the next few weeks. I just chilled out for the rest of the day; I have low meeting tolerance.

Friday - 3 hours practicing guitar....then bed.

Saturday - Took our step-daughter to her skating lessons. While she was skating I walked around the lake at the park by the rink. Got home and went grocery shopping and did a few more chores around the house. Practiced guitar for a couple hours and relaxed with my wife for the evening. We had a fairly major downpour overnight - in fact my rain gauge showed just about 1 1/2" of rain.

Sunday: Played at church. I was not happy at all with my playing, but the sound tech said my tone was spot on perfect this week. We had a very emotionally trying week - the roughest in years actually - and I had problems concentrating on the music. My playing was not bad by any stretch, but I have very high standards for myself playing wise and I did not meet them. Did some house clearing in the afternoon and spent most of the evening making lunches for the week for myself and Mrs D.

Fully unhealthy confession jam: I went on a bit of an excessive bender after running into my ex with the new BF. After a tough year of being complete isolated from covid, trying to get back on the dating horse and then running into them, I deleted all my dating apps and ate about 400mg of edibles. I don't remember much of the last two days, except for the part I deeply want to scrub from my brain. :( If someone's got a link to the Eternal Sunshine machine, HMU.

400 mg - I'm guessing that's a lot?

Mojo for the relationship woes.

The average "legal" cannabis serving is between 5-10mg per dose. Typically if you got a 100mg chocolate bar, it would be scored into 10-20 pieces, depending on how the company designates a serving. So this is like eating four fully medicated "Hershey" bars of 20 servings. When I eat edibles I dose in the 20-50mg range, or 2.5-5 for a microdose. I have not intentionally consumed that much THC in one sitting in probably five years.

Friday - Played some Disc Golf and began working on a Landtone Fuzz Kit I bought off of Amazon. Kit is a Big Muff Pi Clone.

Saturday - Slept in late for the first time in a long time. Laid low for a bit just taking care of a few chores. In the afternoon packed up the gear and headed for a gig from 4-7pm.

Sunday - Walked the dog, practiced Taichi, ran errands and got a much needed afternoon nap. Transplanted a few violets and watched some disc golf.

Kitchen sink stopped draining on Friday. House was built in 78. Plumber came out and said it has 40 years of grease piled up in it. He worked on it for almost 3 hours and then ran out of snake line.
Came back Saturday with another tech and ran all of his line too. Realized the main line is about 100 feet from the sink so they are supposed to be back out today with a third set of line to clear it out.
Bad part is as they are snaking it they are just packing the old grease further into the line so they have to hit the main line or we have no kitchen sink forever unless we dig under the house and replace it all.
My MIL went through this in her almost 40 year old house about a year ago and it cost her $7000. This sucks. We are very careful about what goes down the sink for this very reason but we bought the house 5 years ago and how could we have known?

Yikes! I try not to dump grease down the sink much for just that reason.

Happy Birthday @Gary Blanchard

@Tiltsta Seems like a perfect reason to drive to a lake

I spent a bunch of time trying to tab out a song. It's a song my old guitar teacher taught me that is his. I have the drums and bass parts for it but not the guitars and I never learned the lead part anyways. I like playing it but I went a while without playing it and found I was forgetting parts. So I thought I try and tab it so I would have a reference in the future. Unfortunately I got to a part that I can't remember how it goes  so this could be a very long project
