Question: Wanna know what's awesome? I'll tell you what's awesome...

LOL. One of my sons friends made a little comment to his counselor about his deep dislike for their principle, (which is a shared feeling between many students and faculty) but due to a poor choice in his wording, he is now facing 2 counts of intent to terrorize. The poor dumb kid has no filter, but this is insane.

Which principle was that? :embarrassed:

@OGG i'm sorry. but being a parent of kids in school requires you to write these days on a calendar on the fridge (or close by).
those holidays are predetermined and you can find it out by going to the school web site and copying them onto the calendar.
just sayin'
No argument here. My bad. I didn't look, and nobody said anything. I have also never heard of making President's day a four day weekend... and, of the districts around here, ours is the only one that had today off.

Sure, my fault.

My main gripe was that I likely would have known, but for the outrageous number of communications from the school that are pointless and inevitably lead parents like me to just ignore the lot of them. I don't give a Rat's ass about 99% of the shit they call or email me about. We are very proactive parents, we are very involved in our kids education. I understand "why" they feel they need to inundate parents with this crap, but it's become akin to crying wolf in that it all just gets tuned out.

I wouldn't mind a call or two every week to notify me of something important, but 1-3 every day for stupid shit is a waste of time and resources, and quite frankly. .. fucking rude.

Old man bitch:

In my day we got both Washington's AND Lincoln's birthdays off.

My kids only got a three day weekend. Maybe your school district is going "old school" by celebrating both again.
