This looks easy enough (Evertune parts replacement)

Jbird

Kick Henry Jackassowski

I need to replace both E-string modules on mine. Ever since a friend of mine tried to knock it out of tune one time, the low E-string module spring buzzes a bit. Can't hear it with amplifier gain, but can hear it clean/unplugged.

And when I changed strings last time, the high E-string module wouldn't quite get to E-flat in zone 2, the tuning I use the guitar in. It 'works' because I just tune the high E-string up using the regular head stock tuning peg to E-flat after it passes zone 2, but it's not really supposed to be that way.

Unfortunately each module is $40 from the Evertune store :zoinks:

But at least it looks to be pretty easy for a do-it-yourselfer to service it themself :)

Sounds to me like you don't need new modules. Evertune makes a new, larger "comb" that holds the modules together and eliminates that buzz. Also, is it possible you are using a different gauge string for the high E? Or even a different brand string? That might affect the tension enough to cause that issue. I've installed 150 or more of these, so I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

I went up one gauge, 10's to 11's, when I changed strings.

Still, that shouldn't stop the bridge from being able to tune all the way up to E Standard, let alone E-flat standard like I was doing. Something is wrong if it doesn't. The screw turns, there's no resistance. It just doesn't go up any further tuning-wise.

If the screw doesn't snug down at some point, it's broken and the module needs to be replaced. Is it possible you tightened it too much and it snapped?

Changing string gauges could definitely make a difference. Try going back to 10's and see if that fixes the issue. It only costs $5 and 15 minutes of your time to find out.

I'll be happy to walk you through anything if you'd like. You can find my number on my website Asken Guitars.

I didn't happen upon any resistance while turning the high E screw. It didn't bind, slow down, nothing. It turned quite easily and just reached a point (thankfully almost at E-flat) where the note pitch just stopped rising.

If that screw broke that easily, Evertune needs to start using stronger screws. I'd hate to have to replace modules every time I do a string change
