Here is one more reason why I have remained a fan:
That is me in front, as a Ninth grader at Bellarmine Prep football camp. To the right is Jim Zorn, the first Seahawk QB, to the left is hall of famer Steve Largent, and directly behind me is my favorite of the three, tight end Ron Howard .
Those guys took some real time with us, and I always respected the three of them. I did not have much interaction with Zorn, and got yelled at (not in a bad way, just football camp way), by Steve Largent. But Mr. Howard took the time to see me, a 165 pound 9th grader, trying to carry a large upper classman on my back during drills for defensive line as I had thought I would play, and pull me over and teach me some routes, and how to be a receiver/tight end with some quiet encouragement. I did not end up getting to play that position ultimately, and my high school football career did not go the distance, but I sure appreciated his effort. He was a class act. I've never forgotten that experience with these pros at that camp. So there is one more reason I am a "Homer honking his team."
