Oh dear lord... I can't look... it's.... it's.... what the fuck?

... there's got to be something weird about it? Right?

The headstock shoots flames?

Nope. I decided to give a "regular strat" a spin. It's a straight set of Eric Johnson singles. I wired it EJ style as well... the middle knob is the neck tone, the bottom one is the bridge tone. The only thing I'm not happy with right now is the volume roll off is too fast. Other than that, I even did the 5 way normal. I can't remember the last time I had "middle pickup only" as an option. It works pretty well for funky stuff.

It'll probably get a Quarter Pound in the bridge in a week.... but I thought I'd play with it this way for a while as a baseline benchmark.

Really, the weirdest thing about the guitar is the bridge is from a PRS, not a strat. :helper:

Wow, me like!

It doesn't follow the Saint Baimun Guitars formula, that's for sure.

Just think, that used to be a perfectly good blacktop.

Congrats! I don't understand the half of it, but im sure it's cool.

Looks nice man.

Have you considered a treble-bleed? If you go low on the cap value, it will lessen the "bleed" effect, but smooth out the roll-off.

Is that a hint of flame I see on the fretboard?

Either way, it looks nice! Volume placement fail, though

Love it. :thu:

Bet it sounds fantastic too. My friend's EJ sig is the strattiest-sounding Strat I've ever played.

I'm surprised how much I like the middle pickup by itself for the funky stuff..... but that bridge pickup is likely going to be gone by this weekend. :annoyed:

It's not that it's icepicky.... it just has no balls... even in the 2 position, there's no way to pull off that SRV sound. just thin and lifeless.

I may have to raise the action a little... I set it for really low action and it doesn't buzz, but because the frets are not really big, it's tough to "dig into" the strings for bends and such.
