The death metal appreciation thread part deux

musically not my cup-o'-death, but the fact that there is investment themed death metal out there warms the cockles of my heart. This is evidently a pandemic project done by a local CFA, complete with powerpoint. He actually has a couple full albums of this stuff out.

That's so left field....it's hilarious

Blood Incantation have embraced their Goblin/Zombi/Tangerine Dream leanings and gone full 70s-prog-ambient

(not at all death metal, but cool; they're supposedly going back to metal on their next album)

Riedl's GF/partner has recently joined Blackwater Holylight as their second guitarist, which is a pretty cool band that has a multi-genre psych/stoner thing going on.

I like ambient stuff but had a hard time getting into this. Found it a bit too ‘uneventful’

I can see that - It's grown on me but I think the band has even described it as a bit like the intro/outro stuff from a death metal album, but without the "payoff" of getting to the metal.

speaking of ambient stuff, this appeared on my instagram and I really like this. Sometimes algorithms do work

I had to laugh at the video description:
Egregore, a hitherto unknown entity in the narrow boundaries of our material world, now appears for the first time with the obscure musical treatise “The Word Of His Law: An address to Abraxas in his time and place, through his Grand Viseer, Thine Panpsycopompos.” This enigmatic incantation offers a first glimpse of a developing musical universe in a state of primeval expansion. Upon the principal element of ancient chaotic underground Black Death Metal, Egregore conjures an uncanny aura of supernatural presence, as though the songs simply pass through them from some other sphere of existence. A self-satisfied work of tradition alone was never in the cards however as Egregore brandish synths, arcane chanting and soaring guitar leads among other spells creating a truly underground work of creative vitality and occult sorcery. Album closer ‘An Address to Abraxas’ even morphs into Neo-folk domains.
