Wow. It is stupid dead over there. Posts sit around for hours in the same spot on the forum. There must be like 10 people on HC, and 9 of them are only there to complain. This is a fuckup of incredible proportions. It moves faster than this on Christmas day.

I have a theory about this. When they tried to go live in December, the user load brought the system to its knees; something about some long-running spurious queries, yadda yadda. Sounded dubious to me. I think they spent three months doing automated load testing to make sure that their great big shit sandwich could be served hot, fresh and quickly, while addressing few or none of the UX issues.

Re: Yes, there are major problems. Here's what we're doing about it.

I also would hate to revert to the old site before deciding once and for all whether the new site can live up to its potential. I realize many people see only the problems, and feel that this site is unfixable. And, maybe it is. But maybe it isn't, and ditching it now would be like the record label that didn't sign the Beatles because their early gigs sucked.

Actually this is more like seeing a bands early shitty gigs(when we first got a glimpse of 2.0 months ago), signing that band anyway and then expecting their first record to sell without a fanbase. Then when it doesn't telling everyone to just wait for their 2nd album.

whether or not HC fixes its issues, its still cool, to have a place to talk shop and what not, away from all the ridiculous off topic posts...

Well, my brother doesn't want to give up on the Longhua factory so, we are going to let them finish a batch of guitars, and I guess if they're good, we'll continue.. good news, sketchy news..
