Achtung! Sooooooooooo any of you guys interested in the international sawker cup?

One of my (American) Facebook soccer friends complained about Germany diving in the box. I didn't see any blatant dives - but he also said France didn't dive in the box. I almost replied "That's because they didn't get many chances to dive." Then thought better of it. Now I'm thinking even better of it and posting.

Well at least Colombia made that one interesting in the late minutes.

They did, but there never really was a proper contest after that early goal. The semi final will be very interesting, Thiago Silva out for that match will be a massive loss for Brazil. I can see (as well as hope) ze Germans causing a major upset.

My money's on Germany. Every time in this tournament that Brazil seems to be finding their rhythm, they get sloppy again and make it scary.

I still like Brazil though...my high school's colors were green and gold also. :)

One thing's for sure, Brazil definitely won't get that much space in midfield against the Germans.
Said for a while I think the final will be between Germany and Argentina, still stick by that.

Germany vs Brazil... <YAWN>

Oh well -- at least three of the four teams tomorrow would be world cup final newbies!

Silva took the worst flop of all, walking at least two steps and then crumpling down after he was called for a foul. This sport will not be taken seriously over on this side of the pond until that crap is penalized. The called back goal was questionable, and as I said, the flopping on both sides made this game hard to watch. I want to like the sport, and I do when it is fairly played. But the drama queen stuff has to stop.

I gave a card to a player in a U19 state premier league game once for "simulation", and the assessor failed me for it...
Keep giving them. They have to come around for the sport to be respected. I felt at times in the brazil/columbia game today that I was watching big time wrestling.

Has to be some of the worst refereeing in this match. Fernandinho alone should have been sent off several times.
And yeah, way too much acting. Neymar in particular pisses me off with his going to ground everytime someone gets near him.
