Share some new music that you like.

What kinda stuff do you want to listen to and what do you have no interest in?

Cloud Nothings, Attack on Memory is pretty great..as is Cymbals Eat Guitars, Lenses Alien (2011 but I just came across them other other week). But if you don't like that lo-fi alt thing, you won't dig.

Nothing really new. Just been in retro mode learning tunes I have never done before or skipped over. Also having a small self-indulgence working on old and new country tunes. A place I never really visited until last year.

I've been listening Jason isbell, new live cd. He plays a few dbt tunes on it.

honestly, the only music that's been playing here lately is a "hits of the 80's" comp that we have on in the background while playing Trivial Pursuit.

As geeky as it is, I am getting into "The Hobbit" soundtrack a little bit. I go through a phase once in a while where I enjoy grand scores such as Star Wars, LOTR, etc.

You know what would be cool? A daily Flamencology recommendation. Cuz, that was very nice.^^^^^

(Or, one a week, perhaps?)

Been digging the latest Gaslight Anthem album and that's on heavy rotation on my workout playlist. Someone told me about Torche and I like some of their stuff and some Chevelle. Other than that, been listing to older stuff like Sponge.

+1

Tom Petty's 2010 album, Mojo, has some pretty cool songs. I've been listening to it the last few months.
Mike Campbell owns it...

You probably wouldn't care for most of the stuff I listen to, Mark.

But one of my albums of the year is Alcest - Les Voyages De L'ame, a French post-metal/shoegaze-style band.

Motorik listed their album as one of his albums of the year too. You know it has to be good when Motorik and I both agree on an album of the year :)

The new Steven Wilson album is coming out in February, too !!! Can't wait....

'The Raven That Refused To Sing'

It has Guthrie Govan, Marco Minneman on drums, Nick Beggs on bass..... Alan Parsons doing the engineering :)

Not exactly new, but I've been listening to Wilco a lot lately.

Not sure if you are a fan or not, but the guitar interplay on this is amazingly good.

I'll just give you my top 10 of '12 list.

1. First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar (folky rock from two young sisters from Sweden, produced by the guitar player from Bright Eyes)

2. Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory (balls out, aggressive, heart-felt rock music)

3. Kimbra - Vows (well produced pop infused with dark themes, jazz hooks, and the sincerity of a great young singer/songwriter)

4. Father John Misty - Fear Fun (folk, written the way it should be, on mushrooms)

5. Baroness - Yellow and Green (just discovered these guys this year. they remind me of why I love metal.)

6. Japandroids - Celebration Rock (rock. and. roll.)

7. Two Gallants - The Bloom and the Blight (more great rock. I used to not like two-peice bands. not sure what happened)

8. The Shins - Ports of Morrow (slight change of direction for these guys. I like it.)

9. The Whigs - Enjoy the Company (more great straight up rock)

10. The Wallflowers - Glad All Over (I think this is a real come-back album for these guys. Hope it makes some kind of splash.)

That solo is kicking my ass, but I'm not giving up.

As for songs I've been digging...
