Reverb selling - won't be doing that again

If the OP had sent me a message saying it was sold live earlier I would be like, Oh well, I missed out. Why, because life goes on off line and I don't expect someone to be sitting in their little on line store 24/7. It's not realistic to expect it.

(it's a joke, I see who you were responding to ...)

I really hate when I'm an asshole and am not even cognizant of having made the choice to be an asshole.

You weren't being an asshole, you just didn't know the ropes. Now you do. Live and learn.

No. I just don't have to submit to on line bullshit. Since I'm retired, I don't have to do in person either. In all seriousness, if I received a response like that I would have responded with hug my nuts ass wipe.

I didn't know that adults were able to appeal to the court of DEEZ NUTS.

online selling can be a slog, but man, Reverb makes it about as easy as it can be. it does take more patience than I sometimes have, or more time than I have, but it's generally a nice experience. I'll echo the poasters above who noted that their customer service is top notch, and I'm sure it could be smoothed out if you so desire.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

I don't think you did anything wrong. You countered his lowball offer with an offer of your own, and he still didn't meet that price. So you sold it locally.

Unless you are planning on selling tons of stuff on reverb, I wouldn't sweat it, but yes, contact reverb and explain the situation. Maybe they'll take care of it.

If reverb does nothing, is there a way to explain a low rating when selling other stuff? Like if somebody clicks on your profile or some such?

OK, so I see where I screwed up: when he countered the $575 with $525, I probably had to 'cancel' that 575 offer?

Holy shit, I feel like a fucking senior citizen with this. If someone counters my offer with another lowball, shouldn't that, at least ethically, be all she wrote? I feel like this person was bottom fishing, and apparently I am some combination of dumb, old and inexperienced.

This is what I get for trying to be nice. Well, fuck yo' couch, bro!

It might sound egocentric, but I genuinely give a crap to do the right thing whenever possible. What a colossal boob move. I feel like I'm not ready for the grown up table at the internet.

Reverb is an easy place to get confused. Their site design is focused on making things attractive to buyers. I often can’t remember how to navigate through their messy offers, messages, and package tracking UIs.

It's doesn't sound egocentric to me at all because I am the same way. Reverb is really awesome. I wouldn't let one transaction sour you on it. I have sold 131 items on reverb (holy shit I have a problem) and have only had a handful of bad experiences. I have a 100 purchases there too. So out of 231 transaction, maybe 4 or 5, what I would call, bad ones. That's not too bad.

It was one deal...you know what to do now, so don't sweat it...
