Anytime this autumn should be fine as long as a date is set well in advance. :)
Tickets are generally cheaper in the autumn from here, as it's outside holiday season - so that's a good thing obviously. :wink:

Oh yeah, Phil, Mark and Mike needs to be there. :poke:
 
Very interesting.

I've got a deal on with my gf that I'll limit myself to one beer a week and she'll lay off the chocolate until March. To sweeten the incentive I've decided to stash £20-50 a week away depending on what football etc... is on i.e. the money I would otherwise have spent on beer and was just thinking about what I could spend the warchest on if I manage it :)

I shall check flight prices :embarrassed:

Hmmm all of the airports listed are hovering around the £700 mark. If Qatar hadn't been such a shitfest I'd have been all over this but if I find some sort of gainful employment I'd definitely be up for trying to work something out.

Stupid question from person from a tiny country: Say I'd to fly into New York and spend a bit of time there, would it be feasible to drive, bus or train it out? Flying is the obvious choice but I like the idea of a road trip.

Tempting. That's probably doable - unless the money situation gets worse until then. :)

900 sounds like a lot, but it's very cheap actually, factoring in that the USD exchange rate is really good for Norwegians currently. :grin:

Im guessing its about an 8 hour drive from New York City to where P lives. Not a horrible day's drive.

If he's in NYC And renting to leave, it's no big deal. NYC traffic isn't bad except during afternoon rush. Just get the hell on I80 and head west.

Google maps says it's 9 1/2 hours drive from NY, NY to my place.

There's also a train that runs from NYC to DC, then from DC to Charleston WV. I've taken the train from Charleston to DC before, and it was a complete nightmare, but the train was having mechanical problems, so we only made a top speed of about 30 mph. :facepalm:
 
There's nothing scary at all about the possibility of a train breaking down on a bridge like this....

Actually, it would be pretty scary if a train broke down on that bridge, since it's a 4 lane interstate highway with no train tracks.
 
Bunch of cupcakes you are. I drive in NYC all the time. It's not bad. The only rule to follow is that if there is open pavement, cover it with your car - and remember no two cars can occupy the same space.

I'll probably be making the drive from Jersey. Peeing at every restop just to mark my territory along the way.
