If I can swing it, I'll try to make it with my substandard chops. It would be nice to jam with others for a change, but I'm afraid no one will be too impressed with my skills. Could be a good learning experience.

I'm with ya. After seeing/hearing clips from a lot of the usual attendees (Randy, MicWalt, Mark, Prages, etc, etc), I'd be inclined to quietly play rhythm in the corner. On the other hand, I can drink beer with the best of 'em.

Having heard these folks play, and hearing tales of Pragestock, I know I'd come closer to keeping up on guitar than I would drinking.

The first couple years, I drank waaaaaaaayy too much at Pragestock. The last year when it was up in the attic, every video I had a beer or three in my hand. Some of those recordings were rouuugh. :embarrassed:

The years since, I pace myself... it's a several day marathon and I want to enjoy the entire thing.

Now by the time Sunday rolls around, my tally on beers and hot wings is not too shabby... but it's a steady marathon runner's pace throughout the weekend to get there. :helper:

We could go and drink beer and trade substandard chops.

I made my first trip to pragestock last year. I too had heard all the clips and they all blow me away on guitar, but i had a great time. Even thought most could play circles around me I never once felt intimidated.

I may make it this year...have to see what September looks like schedule-wise.

I believe that. The folks here seem to be genuinely good people, and the few that I've met in person certainly were. Mr. & Mrs. P open up their home to a bunch of internet strangers for the event, how cool is that? I image Pragestock is a pretty inclusive environment without a lot of egos or competition. That's why I kick myself every year for not going.

I had been kicking myself for missing it for years but last year I finally made it and it was a blast.

If I make it this year, I can guarantee you you'll not be the worst player there. Not even close. I haven't played seriously for at least 20 years, and even then I sucked. These days I only pick up my guitar every year or so - mostly just to tune it.

But I do like beer! And with a wife and three daughters, I enjoy anything that gets me around other XY chromosome humans. Anybody bringing imitation crab meat?
