I'm surprised any Metropolitans are left. They had the same motors as the Austin-Healy bug eye Sprite. In the early 70's you could buy them for $25. Blow up your Sprite and it was the cheapest way to get a motor. I personally pulled at least a half dozen.

The coupe is giving me serious John Milner vibes.

The XJS looks like the one they did on Road Kill. The small block Chevy bolted right in. Trans and motor mounts. I knew a guy who put a small block Chevy in his 12 cylinder XKE. I never spoke to him again.

the first one i ever saw was in 1959 when uncle Tuck came from Chicago to visit us.
it was white, and i was 3½ and they say that i stood there staring at it for almost an hour.
