Lola had her 6 month check in today. The usual vet place is having a refurb so I had to take her elsewhere and the little shit was an absolute angel.

She's usually barking at everything in sight and you need to wrestle her at every turn in the room. She was anxious but done everything without any bother. The waiting room was empty then 2 hyperactive preschoolers with their dad and a litter of gorgeous blue Staffies came out of a room right into her space. I honestly worried for a minute that she'd go for one of the kids or a pup but there she was showing them her frizbee and having a good sniff.

No concerns on the health front though I definitely feel she's slowing down. She's about 7 and a half now by estimates and Mrs JBJ and myself have noticed her kind of stumbling recently. Not falling over or anything but she definitely isn't as steady on her feet as she used to be. I took her for a very long walk yesterday to tire her out before the vet today. She didn't do it but at one point she stop and for the first time ever I thought she was going to down tools and refuse to move.

She's also becoming more stubborn which is kind of funny but I think she's getting a bit anxious about being out at night too. It might just be that she's a princess and doesn't like the cold but last night she flat out refused to pass the boundary of our front yard until I had her leash on.

It's making me a bit sad thinking about her age and mortality but we should still get a good few more years out of her and however long she does have, we'll still spoil her way more than we should.

That cat looks serious.

That cat is most serious!

When my old good natured tabby passed I searched for a new cat. I went through all the cages at the rescue trying to vibe out a good match. Vibing skilled not up to par. I ended up with this frustrated city cat that wants to be a barn cat.

She's got a hair trigger and will rub your leg one minute and haul off an bite you the next. If I try to lay on the bed and she's already there I'm in for a mauling.

Buddy is our miracle dog. Buddy was diagnosed with a bleeding spleen tumor in February. He seemed very lethargic and we had just put down his brother cat Buzz. I thought he was just sad. That’s about the time. I noticed a small bump in his belly. The veterinarian gave him one to three months to live. We put him on a Chinese herb and a steroid. He still loves life and I am spoiling him to death. I’m so happy he’ll be around for Christmas and maybe his 15th birthday.

You can see his belly is very large.
Every day is special.
