Our last last gig....

Denverdave

Resident Ragamuffin
Yep - officially our fourth 'last gig', though I believer this is probably the real last one. Our drummer is moving to London in about a month for a few years (at least) and I'm looking for another music outlet. So an actual real last show. And at a true dive bar. I'll get a chance to break in my new delay at least.

Only one rehearsal though.....I'm expecting a fairly loose show musically with a missed cue or two. Still - it will be fun! I miss gigging....though with the rest of the band in Denver rehearsals and getting to the gigs can be a PITA at times.

Have fun.
Our last rehearsal is tonight, and our last gig is Sat.

Good luck with the search. I hope you find something good.

How are you liking the delay?

Arena?

I just saw that you guys finally got hooked up with Robert Rankin Walker. That guy should be booking your band like MAD! It's nearly impossible to get in with that guy, but once you do, you're golden.

What the Hell happened?

We're not booking shit.
And I've been unhappy with a few specific things for some time.
In addition, the single-band tribute seems to be what's in vogue around here right now, so that's what I'm gonna do.

He generally books his entire summer/Autumn shows way early in the year, so it could just be that he did not have much left to book you for... This year. That's basically what happened with us. He called out of the blue and asked us to do that big private winery show on short notice, and we knocked it out of the park. That got us "in", but it wasn't until the following Spring that we started getting requests from him.

Anyway, I'm sure your new band will kick ass. Stay in touch with that guy no matter what.

Don't do it man....don't be another cog in the sheeple wheel.
That's popular in my area too and everyone I know is a bandwagon jumper. They all think they are going to make a shit ton of money but the reality is there are only about 3 REALLY popular tribute acts that are making big dollars everyone else is just trying to ride coat tails. It's pathetic.
Unless you do this for a living, I'd suggest you get a project up playing music YOU believe in.
For me, it's not about money. That's what my full time job is for.
