Question: One artist you're really glad you got to see

Can I list the shows I didn't get to see because I was a stupid pot head teenager that got caught by my parents and the tickets were taken?
Ok, here we go...
Pink Floyd
The Grateful Dead
The Eagles
Prince

Yep. Regrets.

No.

Read the title.
Fine. STP before Weiland died.
Alice in Chains before Staley died.
Nirvana before Cobain died.
Jesus. I need to branch out from 90's dead lead singer music.
Oh wait, Soundgarden before Cornell died.
What have I done with my musical choices?

Dylan. In fact, having the opportunity to share decades with Dylan is a treat. It’s like getting to see Shakespeare Shakespeare before Shakespeare became “Shakespeare.”

To a lesser extent, Paul McCartney. I mean, hey, a real live Beatle doing all the fun stuff you love.

On a smaller and more somber scale, I’m glad I got to see the Silver Jews when they had a brief little victory lap situation in the early ‘00s. Berman was an ace and they were such a fragile, barely cohesive act that getting to see em live and in top form was special.

Lots... but if you live long enough that's not unusual.

I think the one that really sticks out in my mind right now is Roky Erickson. He was just such an utter, hopeless mess for so long that it was good to see him focused and making music again. Sucks royally that he died before his time, but at least his last few years were good ones.

Have seen Dylan a bunch of times and have never been disappointed.

Also extremely glad to have seen Prince. And Kate Bush in 2014.

And pretty much every time I got to see Paul Motian and/or Charlie Haden. Almost certainly my favourite drummer and bassist.

John Prine. He was always one of my dad’s favorite songwriters, so I was psyched that we got to go see him play solo at one of the nicest theaters in the state before my dad passed. Then two years ago one of my best friends called me out of the blue with a spare ticket to see him with his band at Levon Helm’s Barn in Woodstock. Amazing show.
