Question: One artist you're really glad you got to see

I would have to say Donovan. I never had the chance to see him in the 60s and figured I never would see him in concert. Then he did a limited tour in 2017 that brought him to New London, CT. That involved getting a hotel room for the night in addition to the ticket price, but I wasn't going to miss it. It was a solo acoustic show and, though his voice was not what it was, I couldn't have been happier. I was lucky enough to be about 7 rows from the stage. His music inspired me to play guitar and to write music, so that was truly a "bucket list" event.

Johnny Cash...

My mother was one of the original Johnny Cash fans, having seen him in 1954 at the Newburgh Armory in NY when he was playing 2 songs on a package tour with a bunch of other artists...

Fast forward many years and I made sure to take her to every show he did in the area...at one show I managed to get front row seats and sent a message back stage through one of the crew guys telling her story and at one point in the show Johnny called her out and thanked her for her loyalty...

Oasis numerous times - probably the biggest UK zeitgeist band of my generation that it will have meant anything to see.

Ella Fitzgerald.

I've got the Duke Ellington Songbook playing while makng dinner.

And it got me thinking.

Probably about 1978/79 at Boston Symphony Hall with a guitar trio, including Joe Pass (iirc, it was many years ago.)

Huh - I saw her with my parents during the 70s at Ravinia, near Chicago.
