Olympics stuff. In here.

Yeah 2 different things. I consider dominating, someone who can't be beat, or wins all the time. A quick google search shows most dominant athlete lists think the same way I do. A one sport person who dominates their sport. I will concede that maybe Serena Williams is the most dominant athlete.

Lol, what do you do for that game, just flail your arms? :embarrassed:

Having had kids that swim competitively, I will say that swimming has become very specialized, and it is very hard to win at most all the different strokes. Butterfly is a whole different deal from freestyle. Track might compare. Setting aside the field events, it is all running. And there are no athletes I can think of who have dominated like Mr. Phelps has. There, the decathlon is the event that is most general. Serena is very impressive, but she is competing in tennis games. The same thing every time, absent perhaps surface (clay vs. grass vs. hard courts).

Does anyone remember the Superstars show from the 70's and maybe early 80's? They used to have guys from different sports come in and do this competition involving a bunch of athletic stuff. A Canadian soccer player was the most successful in that format.

At least we can count on our handball ladies. On their way to another medal it seems. Other than that summer olympics are obviously bollocks for us :embarrassed:

well Katie just smashed that record. 800 free.....she broke her own world record by more than TWO SECONDS.
the second place swimmer was over 11 seconds behind her.:eek:

and Phelps took silver. and he almost didn't care, he was good with it, considering what he's done so far.

I saw the Katie swim. It was the most amazing Olympic performance I have ever seen. She finished half a pool length ahead of everyone else. An amazing performance.
