I always wonder about the suitability of a FR for a basswood-body guitar. Sounds like a repair job just waiting to happen...

Floyds on basswood bodies have been a thing since the '80s and they don't seem to be more of an issue in basswood than any other wood.

I'd say more Gibsons have lost headstocks than Floyds have busted through basswood.

I was going to say, Ibanez has made a mint off of doing that since forever.

Technically their trem is not a FR, but come on, we all know it really sorta is, at least when broken down to physics.

Unless I've lost my mind, Ibanez Edge trems all have a "Licensed under Floyd Rose patents" disclaimer on the whaletail.
