My one Floyd-equipped guitar is a Jackson Soloist, which has a recessed Floyd. I'd like to add a D-tuna to it, but from what I've read online, they don't work very well with recessed Floyds because the body interferes with it. Hard to tell by the product photos, but the EVH Wolfgang looks like it may also be a recessed Floyd. Maybe the "EVH-branded Floyd Rose" is built so the intonation screws, and thus the D-tuna, sit up high enough not to hit the body even though it's recessed? Hard to say. Finally another good Deal!

Problem is that when you pull the dTuna out it drops the E to D but all the other strings go a little sharp due to the overall change in tension. That's why it's usually only on guitars set up like a Wolfgang because the trem has nowhere to go but hitting wood.Yeah, all the recessed Floyds I've seen with D-Tunas all have carve outs for the tuna.

I just received an FU-Tone BlackBox Trem Stabilizer, which is supposed to do the same thing without having to lock a screw down, and still allows pulling up on the bar. I also just found a D-Tuna alternative from Red Bishop that may actually fit in a recessed trem cavity. My goal is to have a stable trem for oblique bends and double stops, and also be able to drop the E to a D without having to carve a chunk out of my Charvel.Problem is that when you pull the dTuna out it drops the E to D but all the other strings go a little sharp due to the overall change in tension. You could get a Tremol-No or whatever it's called, which would have a locked position for dive-only, so it would function the same way.
