that's not actually all that funny. it's pretty true.
i have psoriasis, and the best treatment for it today is trempfya.
unfortunately, it costs $13,000 per DOSE, 6 times per year.
it would max my health insurance in 3 or 4 doses. then it's 80/20.
NOT sustainable.
I too have Psoriasis, as well as Psoriatic Arthritis. I’m taking Cosentyx. I pay for the Kaiser Permanente Gold plan. My injections cost me $600 every 4 weeks. However, Cosentyx has a supplemental reimbursement program which pays me back the $600 every 4 weeks. So, it cost me nothing in the long run.

The reason I’m telling you this is that many drug companies have programs that will help offset the costs. Then, you pair it with a good health insurance plan and it can be affordable. I specifically read through the details of this Kaiser Gold plan to find that injection drugs cost patients of the plan a flat $600 deductible per refill. The Kaiser pharmacist told me about the reimbursement program.

I’m not sure whether Tremfya would be covered, nor what kind of programs they have, but it might be worth the research to check into it. Often, doctors, and many pharmacists, are savvy about these programs.

I used to take Humira for decades to control my Psoriasis and PA. Humira had programs that reduced the cost. But, eventually, the side effects of that drug became too much for me. I hope this info helps.
