Dig it! last day at work

Yep, as of 3 pm today I will be a Retired Guy. Or an "NPC," as the kids say online.

It is a very surreal feeling. And since most people here work from home on Friday, I almost have the building to myself, adding to the weirdness. (I came in to simplify turning in my laptop and badge at the end of the day).

So my goal now is to find a music gig that will net me at least $1, so when people ask me what I do, I can say "professional guitar player" in an imposing vocal fry voice. :jam:

Congratulations on surviving the corporation all the way to retirement. I take it you'll permanently move to San Marcos now?

I've actually retired twice. I'm still working part-time (I averaged five-six hours each bi-weekly paycheck last year, for a ginormous total of $20K) not because I have to (actually, it's disadvantageous these days, since I also get Social Security) but because I still enjoy doing something "worky"
now and then
