Jane’s Addiction: Honeymoon is over.

Dave used to always play shirtless and show off a pretty good physique. He looks a bit frail in that clip. Is he OK? Maybe just the aging process. Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.
He had long covid and was reported he only recently went on tour.

Good dudes don't introduce their underage cousin to heroin or use them for a threesome or write songs about it & use it for the basis of album art. The cousin OD'd and died not long after.
Like I said, I never dug too deep. What a horrible story. I think I know 4 songs from them. All of the lyrics are seem drug related. Why was he stealing in the first place? I haven't seen any of their album art. I may check that out.

Sad end to their tour, which they cancelled today or yesterday. Perry was a mess on stage, drunk and likely taking other substances as well. If you watch clips from recent shows and this Boston show, the band is solid as a rock but Perry can't keep time, forgetting lyrics, missing cues, having an all around bad time. The band was trying to cover for him, cutting out parts of songs, burrying Perry in the mix etc. Perry cracked and decided to take it out on Dave for no apparent logical reason. Probably because Dave is recently recovered from long Covid, Stephen is behind a huge kit, and Eric was pretty serious about boxing and would likely kill Perry with one good shot. Perry needs help and the band recognizes this. I think ending the tour was the right move and they may have had to do it anyway to prevent Perry from self destructing.

I opted to not attend the Boston show as a decent seat was north of $200 and I saw them not too long ago with Smashing Pumpkins and once or twice before that. They're one of my favorite bands and I'm a big fan of a lot of the other projects the four guys have done over the years.

Kudos to Dave for his composure in a situation where he would have been justified clubbing Perry with his guitar. The guy is so fucking solid on guitar, he kept playing when the whole thing started and didn't miss a note. Love them or hate them, you can't deny Dave's talent and creativity.

Perry is kind of a dick. I was in the press pit when Lolla relaunched in 2005 and dude has his own trip and was pretty dismissive of serious questions about access to Chicago’s parks and the impact of Lolla on the city when being challenged by legit journalists. I got a chance to ask him a question and said something rude/mean because I was kind of a dick on purpose back then.

I saw the reconstituted Jane’s (minus Dave) when they did that co-headlining tour with the zombie Pumpkins a few years back because I scored a $25 ticket. Perry was in full on skeevy old man mode and did a lot of yapping and preening. Band was alright, but it seemed like the reunion was mostly an excuse for Perry to talk about his sex life on stage and perv on ladies in the first few rows

Well at least now I don’t have to feel bad about not buying tickets to a bucket list show. Which I did not do because those greedy fuckers were charging insane prices.

Perry has sobered up long enough to apologize: “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

The rest of the band apologized for Perry: “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.”

I'm confused about what any of this has to do with Indiana Jones.

In ears, amps under the stage, isolation for amps and drums...silent stage.

There's no reason for him to struggle to hear or try to compete with amps, let alone the PA.

What a silly goose.
