Sold my DeArmond Jet Star.

I also took possession of a new a Gibson LP Standard in burgundy ($600 off at Sweetwater.)

Stock pics attached.

Of course, I'm down about $1800 for the day, but I've listed several other guitars (including one of the new Edwards) for sale today too. The Jet Star got snatched up within minutes, though. Local pickup. Guy met me a block from my office and handed me cash.

We'll see what happens with the other offerings.

Lord Almighty I love that so hard.....

This really challenges my Fuqagibson principles to the max.

It's pretty striking in person, and not something you see too often.

I've only had a chance to play it for a few minutes, but it sounds really good. It's got the 50s neck, so it fills up your hand really well. Weighs 9 lbs 4 oz. About the same as my Gibson LP Signature T, and only slightly heavier than the Edwards LTS that stole my heart a few weeks ago.

Still not able to say if I like it now than the Edwards, but I'm pretty sure I like it more than the Signature T.

Wow, a beauty! The sparkle red and blue tops were a rare version of the LP Deluxe in '69-'70.

That is a beautiful Lester! I love that sparkling burgundy finish. I didn't know it wxisted until a thread here last week, and it's instantly become one of my favorites.

Congrats! I totally get the concept of slowly consolidating and upgrading (when I was in my 20s and 30s, I figured I'd never own a Gibson; as of my most recent purchase, I now own seven, haha!). But my Jet Star is never going on the block.

Freaking gorgeous!! I saw those on sale, I tried to rationalize a way to get one, but I'm also trying to stick in non-acquisition mode at the moment after my semi rampage of the first half of this year.

The Jet Star sold within minutes, and I offloaded a Taylor GS Mini Mahogany that had been wall art at my office since I got it. I got it when Taylor was running a "Buy a $3000 guitar and get a $500 one for $200" promotion, so I actually came out about $200 ahead on that deal.

I've still got a few guitars, a loop station, and a set of Duncan Pearly Gates pickups for sale. Hopefully some more stuff will sell soon.

Funny thing is, I've been playing all evening, but I've been playing the laquer Edwards. It's just got something to it that makes it special.

Don't get me wrong. I think the new Gibby is great. Sounds fantastic and I really like the 50s neck profile. I just need to tweek the setup to my liking.

I've got that Edwards dialed in already, but if you were to do a blind test between the two, I'd take the Edwards over the Gibson... but just barely.

Like I said, some minor setup tweeks, and I'm sure I'll be raving about the new Gibby just as much as the Edwards.

I've got a bunch of stuff up for sale too. A Gibson gigbag, a Chibson SG Junior, an '80s Marshall solid state combo, and a MIM Squier P-bass I bought to flip.

Also, for my Jet Star, I should probably point out that it's my last surviving DeArmond. I first got a Jet Star Special, which I sold when I got the proper Jet Star. But I also had a second Jet Star that I bought to flip, and a couple M-series Aristocrats. Except for the Jet Star Special, they all had the same GoldTone pickups. So I'm holding onto Ruby.

This was my second Jet Star. Lino and I both bought one when VH1 Save The Music was selling. I traded mine a year or two later, then bought his. I rarely played it, even though it played and sounded great.

I doubt I'll seek out another.

The only electric I've wanted to play recently is my American Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom. If there's a tone I need that's not in there - I haven't found it yet. I'm toying with the idea of getting rid of my other electrics with the exception of that one and my Kirn "blackguard" ash tele and using the latter for alternate tunings...
