I wonder why

so many people selling on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist put a picture of the case as the first photo. That doesn't seem to be a good way to grab attention. Is the thinking that people will click on it to see more photos? I would think if you don't like the item once you clicked on it, you wouldn't have liked the item if the picture of the item was first.

The prob took just uploaded their pics in the order taken and never thought about what the 'cover' pic would be.

If I see a case as the first pic, I’m going to wonder if what’s being offered for sale is ONLY a case. Maybe, the instrument in the pics that follow are being shown so that I know what fits in the case. I don’t want to overpay for a case thinking an instrument is included. So, I’ll probably get confused and move on to a different listing. Confused is my go to state of mind. :embarrassed:

I honestly don't think there's much thought put into photos for listings. The number of guitars that come up in my searches where the thumbnail photo is of the back or the side or a closeup of some part of it that really gives no idea of what it is has been ludicrous.

They don’t know how to use Facebook to create a post and are too lazy to check their post to see if they did it correctly.
