I think there's a difference between a potential fire hazard and what HOAs typically do, like restrict which shade of white you can paint the trim on your mailbox lest you get a $300 fine.

I agree HOA can be too strict. They also pressure people to keep up on their properties and protect the value.

Zillo estimates my home is worth $736,300. I could sell my home, buy that home and pocket some cash. But, then I’d live in Ohio instead of Colorado. I love the Rocky Mountains too much to make that trade.
