Hot or Not - Rasmus by Suhr Guitars Guthrie Govan model

And that is the buyers decision to make...honestly I'd rather have the US made version of this guitar but it's just not in my budget. Actually this isn't either :embarrassed:

Quite true. On both counts. I would love to play either version though sometime...

Love it! I May be going to Guangzhou in Southern China this summer. How many should I pick up for ya?

At least the volume knob is a bit further (or is it farther?!) from the stings than on a standard strat... I'd give this a go if I didn't already have my Ibby/Suhr...

Hot!..I did try one :embarrassed:..very nice indeed. The shop had a Modern that I liked better though..albeit for a lot more money. :embarrassed:

This is a lot of guitar for the price range. How much do you normally have to pay for a new guitar that is friggin' Plek’d?
Very hot!

I am fighting the urge to get a Suhr pro series. It is a tough battle, at least mentally. I want the guitar, but I have college funds, retirement, and mortgages to think about.

you could always sell something. i know that's not your thing though.

It isn't so much that I am opposed to selling gear, it just seems to take a lot of time/effort, and it often isn't worth the time to do so. This is especially true for some of the cheaper stuff I have that I could part with. Last thing I sold was a marshall tube combo, for like 700 bucks. I bought it with a blown fuse for 100 bucks in NY, and flipped it for a 600 dollar profit, but I spent like 10-12 hours demo-ing it for tire kickers and time meeting people and stuff. In the end, I think I lost money in time I could have been working. It was also a big pain in the ass. Buying the Suhr isn't really a financial stretch, but rather that I feel better spending the money on other things.

I would love to play one.....

....then build one for about half that price

I think that this is definitely something that will appeal to someone who really wants a Suhr but doesn't have the $3,500. OTOH if you don't have an attachment to the brand, there are plenty of competitive options in this price range.

Its a very appealing guitar, but as I have said before, I wish it was a different color. Any color. I dont have any problems with it being produced in China. Like Dave I would prefer Korea just because its a friendly country, but since it being inspected and set-up here I have zero concerns about QC.

I imagine it plays great, but it does nothing for me visually.
for $1400, I'd rather get another ass-kickin' SG.

or a boatload of Star Ways toys

I like the IDEA behind it, but not sure on that particular model.

I mean, it's cool, and I am sure it is a real player, just not sure I need another super-strat.

Do like the idea behind it, though, and the fact that Suhr sets it up, inspects it before it hits the end-users hands, uses Suhr parts.
I don't have any problem with that trem at all.

I have 2 Gotoh equipped guitars, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a high-quality trem unit.

Overall: HOT.

Sorry, and I'm sure it's a fine guitar, but IMO it should street for half the price. Like others have said, money better spent elsewhere.

So, tell us what other $1400 guitars out there have been through a Plek machine? Bueller?

OK, how about half the price?

I know this isn't just about these guitars being Plek'ed, but my point is for the money, this looks like you are getting a much better guitar than $1400 will get you anywhere else. Only playing one will help us determine if this is a good or bad deal, like most other guitars.

Isn't Gibson plek'n just about everything these days? They have plenty of domestically built models that street under $1,400.
