Hey Euro's its that time again (again)

My birthland team gave mighty San Marino the mother of all shoeings last night, so I assume the local press will now have them down as odds-on favourites for whatever it is they're qualifying for. Bless 'em.

Meanwhile, I'm back from a local whisk(e)y festival with the news that I definitively preferred the rum. I always half wondered if my indifference to whisk(e)y was down to the fact that I'm a tight bastard and therefore unlikely to shell out for a 21-yr-old single malt. It basically isn't; I really do prefer armagnac, calvados and (especially) rum.

Just the way it is. England will win the World Cup again, that is right until they go out in the quarter finals - as usual.

I absolutely prefer single malt to rum btw. :embarrassed:

Never gets tiring.

Meanwhile, here in the Netherlands the hysteria won't get properly out of control unless and until they get through the group stages.

To my surprise, the whisky festival was full of people who felt the same way. (I am easily surprised.)

Hysteria? I always thought the national team gets totally destroyed in the press, even if they reach the final

Maybe; I meant the actual volkshysteria. For the last world cup there was orange bunting everywhere - including the campsite we were staying at - and the streets were deserted during matches.

Morning all
Up bright and early to ferry mrs_huge to the airport. And...

Although I've been trying my hardest, I fail to share my 6 year old twins' joy of rolling around in the snow. Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm sick of it. Where's the stinking sun?
