GPOTD Guitar Pic Of The Day 4/14/2011

New Age tried to kill the metal, but the metal was much too strong.

You cannot kill the metal.

Not with new age, anyway. They won't even kill the cow for dinner.

I could use that.
no friggin' way I'd pay a grand for it though.

parts-wise, it's similar to my Ibanez (though mine's H/S/S)
and mine's prettier.
and only cost me about $300 (used).

I like my Strats less super, more old skool.
This mint '66 CBS would satisfy my manly needs. I'll need a winning lotto ticket for the $14,999 price, however.

I had this very guitar in black and sold it last year. The pickups sucked...a Duncan JB/59 combo didn't improve matters. On Howie's advice, things got better with a Dimarzio Tone Zone/PAF Pro set, but I just didn't bond with it. The Edge Pro was pretty good though. It could certainly hang with an OFR.

i bought mine new for $390 in 1993.
eggs acktlee.
no friggin' way that guitar should cost a grand.

btw, used up here might knock off 15%...if yer lucky.
though I did luck out on my LP in regards to that.

that's one thing I do miss about living in bigger cities.
there's SFA for gear shops out this way.
closest place with any real selectionis almost 4 hrs drive.

i got a deal on it. if i remember right, it was a $500 guitar. $500 in '93 equals about $760 today. but the cost of production in Japan has also gone up. Ibanez is likely making exactly the same margin now as they did then.
