Giffin Valiant

Master Builder Roger Giffin has built guitars for some of the biggest names in the industry. Such players as Malcom Young, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Walsh, and Jimmy Page have played Giffin built guitars. Roger’s attention to detail is unmatched and Giffin Guitars are a testament to true master builders the world over. His artistry is evident in the Giffin Valiant. Based on the traditional single-cut electric guitar, the Valiant features a mahogany body with a flame maple top. The neck is made of mahogany with maple laminate in the center for stability as well as tone. The unique neck joint brings more of the neck wood into play to yield the resonance and sustain of a neck through while using a set-neck design. Beautiful to behold and a joy to play, the Giffin Valiant is a truly versatile work of art that any true guitar player will love.

That neck looks super wide. I don't like the headstock or the body shape. The body looks like a les paul that is starting to be stretched into an explorer.

I don't like the looks of the body or the stretched out peghead. But it does answer the big pickup question; "Amalfitano Fullbuckers for exact replication of the guitar’s tone". But it also states "incredible tone and playbility for the serious guitarist", and I'm anything but serious.
I don't want one anyway.

I'm not crazy about the shape - but it looks like a pretty nice guitar. Not four grand worth of nice, but nice....

If that's a wide fretboard, I like that. Seeing two standard looking humbuckers defeats the body reconfigurations.
And why pickup builders don't put rails or partial frets on pickup covers is just being so slack. Extra octave notes, a simple concept.

Looks like a cross between a LP and an old Schon guitar.

I sorta like the shape, but the controls make it look mishappen. Give it a control makeover and then I'll like it a lot.

I dig the shape, and the flameyflame, but that fretboard looks miles wide

and that price?
no.

but price has nothing to do with hotness.

I'll give it a 60/100
