Funky new Rock N Roll Relic guitar model...

Dogsinplastic

avuncular to no one
What do folks think of this moderately priced offspring of a Firebird and Les Paul Special?

Someone is going to post about this on Reddit and people are going to give OP shit for posting AI slop.

Mmmmmmm. Mini-buckers.

I’d give it a go.

The upper bout is a bit TOO LP-ish. Stretch it a bit and I think it would more pleasing to the eye.
Not a dealbreaker though.

meh....but I'm a no-go on RNRR guitars, in general.

Edit: I see these are imports. I don't really dig the shape but I'm still not interested in giving RNRR any of my cash.

Yeah, I'm not into them either...I've not spent much time with Gibsons or direct knock-offs in my life, but this struck me as an intriguing abomination of a axe. As such, I was interested in what the MWGL folks thought of this beast, especially after seeing it was an import at $799.

I have a friend who had a pretty lame experience with them after buying one second hand, nearly new, that had a pretty critical build issue.

I’ve played a few in shops and they are generally uninspiring fashion guitars with big price tags. They don’t feel/seem good in the same way that “good but not for me” stuff at the same price point feels.

The humbuckers are a disappointment. Would be nice to see something like P90s as an option for the grown-ups.

I thought Rock n' Roll Relics existed as a kinda Johnny Thunders cosplay brand, for that minority of lawyers and dentists who are into the Dolls and the Heartbreakers instead of Joe Bonamassa.

I'm not sure who that tubby looking underwhelmer is supposed to appeal to.
