I listened to Queensryche in the 80’s. I finally got a chance to see them play live early 90’s. I can’t recall the exact year. They put on a good show.
When I saw them with my friend, Ernie, they performed all of OM with theatrics. I think they were one of the last Metalish band I got into, but I was never a super fan.I think I've seen them open for other bands maybe 3-4 times.
Saw them do Operation Mindcrime in its entirety with some theatrical elements and that was more than a little weird

I'm not entirely sure how to label bands by category, Glam, Hard Rock, Metal. I've never been heavily into Metal, but listened to some during the 70's, 80's, 90's. I revisit some of it now and again. I think the only Metal bands I saw live during the 80's were Motley Crue and Whitesnake. Big hair, lol!
I like old Metal, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns 'n' Roses, Corrosion Of Conformity, etc. When I moved to Colorado, I had the opportunity to see a few Metal bands live. I saw King's X, QR, Dio, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Blue Oyster Cult, etc. If Van Halen is Metal, I saw them live as well.
If I had a voice like Tate, I think I'd be a bit of a diva as well. They're usually considered progressive metal. I had a friend who was reallllly into them so I went with him to the last one. Tate was always kind of a diva but that last one, he really vamp'd it up.
Saw them open for Metallica, twice.
Once w/ Fates Warning and Dream Theater.
