Crazy Person Requires Tele-Health Appointment

Me too. The build time is 4-7 weeks so it’ll be a little while

If you want another cheap immediate gratification option, the GFS hot tele 60's is mighty close to the BG A3 rockwind (I had both). It's prb a smidge hotter output than your custom broadcaster spec though @ 9.6k

Interesting. I kinda want to do a project tele and this could be a part I might use.

All I know is that I contacted the website once about a custom cover idea for a P90 and he got back with me the next day with a positive answer and seemed willing to do anything physically possible. I found another option for that guitar, but dude seems on the up and up.

Yeah, ok, this thread is helpful. @Peen Simmons , have you made any decisions/moves?

Wait, nevermind, I see. Cool. I can wait and see how this goes. Will be part of a two step project I have in my addled brain.
Well, I spent a bunch of time researching early 50s broadcaster and nocaster and early blackguard bridge pickup technical specs and then I ordered a custom wind from Bootstrap (who makes very affordable handwound pickups) with Broadcaster specs. We’ll see if this does the trick.

@Peen Simmons where did you find the Broadcaster specs? Curious.

Also, these seem interesting wound kinda hotter I guess with A3 magnets.

Well, I surfed a fair amount of forums and Reddit and combed through the specs on a lot of boutique pickup makers.

Thanks for sharing your research! I hate to do that to you so sorry, but also not sorry because that’s a whole lot easier and I appreciate it. Again thank you.

The DiMarzio Area T is my favorite pickup (well tied with a TV Jones Classic). It gets rid of the icepick, can still give you the tele sound, can rock and most importantly, no hum.

It arrived, but I moved on from the tele to fund the Heritage I got. :embarrassed:

I sold the pickup to a mystery forumite who will reveal what he did with it
Since if it is mine, I can hardly keep a secret, I am holding up my hand. I bought @Peen Simmons 's ordered Bootstrap Broadcaster spec bridge pick-up to go in my tele project. I want to build one from scratch, as I always have wanted to do. I am deciding what to match this pickup with. I am thinking either a T style neck pickup that will match up well for lead/fill work, and will stack well in a 4 way tele control array, as I think I will use that. Or, will get a P-90 to match. But because I already have such a set up, I am inclined to go with the T-style. Open to thoughts. Will end up with two tele's, which will be nice as I live in two places now, for the next couple years anyway. Was thinking about having the Bootstrap folks wind me something that will match well, or...

Here is my other thread if you want:

Considering the Fender Reissue American Vintage '62 Custom Tele Neck Pickup. I found a deal on one on Reverb.

Another forumite had a neck pickup from the '63 custom shop that they loved, and that seems like a good bet, but can't find one available to purchase. Via some quick tele research, I find that the '63 pickups are Alnico II 7.37k neck, 6.59k bridge (+/- 10%).

and it appears that the '62 pickups you can get (for like $50 on my deal I found) are:

Neck:
Magnets were alnico 2 beveled, clockwise winding, polarity is north up. Resistance is 7.4 - 7.8, inductance is 2.1

Bridge:
6.1 - 6.5 Resistance
3.2 - 3.6 Inductance

But I only care about the neck. And that seems to match up well enough. So I might go that way.

All the above information came from TDPRI from a thread where others were doing projects.
