Construction starts today on my new studio space...

Still working on the floor. I think the concrete patch is as good as its going to get. There is still too much moisture in the concrete so I might have to put off the epoxy treatment until Sunday. Tomorrow my father-in-law is coming over and running the electrical for me.

You're doing my garage next. Right?

And you're doing this just to have a moog, bass drum and xylophone band practice in there? No, actually I'm impressed since I'd probably cause major damage if I tried to do ANY of this.

Well, I was smart (for once) and hired a good contractor for the hard stuff. I figured that if we ever sold the house I wanted this to be an asset and not a problem. It will turn into a normal (if well insulated) garage if you take my stuff out. I'm just doing the paint and floors on my own.

Painted the epoxy floor today:

We are doing the clear coat on Sunday.

Spent the rest of the day so far at Home Depot getting odds and ends and I have a bunch of small things to do around the house. I'm fucking tired.

Looking good Mark. What's with the big frame around the 2 small front windows
It was originally on the house when we bought it. Removing it would have made the stucco repair quite a bit more expensive do we decided to live with it. None of the other houses on the street have the wood.

Thanks! We're pretty excited to have it done. We've never liked the exterior but never was able to swing getting the work done...

The colors you chose look really good. I looked back at the before pics you posted and now it looks like a brand new house!
I can't believe the prices of housing on the west coast...here on the east coast we have an 100sq/ft cape which cost 200K 6 years ago. In my neighborhood nobody has a big piece of land. I thing we have maybe a 1/4 acre, probably less. But with a bunch of upgrades that we have done so far at least we have some equity now...

Thanks! Mrs Wein gets the credit for the design. I just got to be project manager. :)

And yeah, houses are obscenely priced here. Couldn't afford this house today if I had to buy. We got very lucky buying at the bottom of the crash.
